Sattaya Kahon: . A healthy competition is welcome but there is no room for such animosity-7
For the past few years Bangladeshi community in Sydney has witnessed a rise of extremism and increasing adversity. Some extremists and malicious group of people have been spreading hatred against many respected people and social organisations in the community. This malicious group of people turned a community of peace and innocence into a mass of hatred. In the recent past their activities included, hate speech against respected people and organisations, defamation of distinguished members of the community, creating division and adversity in the community, verbal / physical abuse as well as negative campaign against community events through Facebook posts, email, text and verbal messages.
Recently they have crossed all boundaries. This malicious group of people spread hatred and defamatory stories about the different organisations. Their heinous activities disgraced the entire Bangladeshi community and caused enormous damage to the objective of the event.
Australia is the land of law, mutual respect and harmony. A healthy competition is welcome but there is no room for such animosity, hatred and defamatory activities. We strongly believe it is important to bring those extremist perpetrators and mischief-makers to justice for the best interest of the Australian society and in particular for the best interest of Bangladeshi community. It is also important to create community awareness against such heinous acts.
In order to create community awareness against such adversity and to maintain greater harmony we the conscious citizens of Australia and member of Bangladeshi community are looking at taking some strong steps. We require assistance of all the peace loving people for a better harmonious society for all.
